Bielefeld (fhb). For the third time, Bielefeld University of Applied Sciences (FH) has published its annual report as a collaborative project between the university management, the Design Department, University Communications, and the Planning, Controlling, and Quality Management Department. The core theme of the 2019 annual report is “transfer”: from research collaborations with companies in the region to student projects with local partners from the urban community, 20 articles describe the diverse activities of Bielefeld University of Applied Sciences.
"The transfer of ideas, knowledge, and technologies is one of our core tasks, alongside teaching and research. We provide an insight into how many important projects are being implemented at this university in various areas of society,“ explains Professor Dr. Ingeborg Schramm-Wölk, President of Bielefeld University of Applied Sciences and editor of the annual report. ”This report is therefore both a snapshot and a cross-section of the commitment of our colleagues."
Under the direction of Professor Dirk Fütterer from the Department of Design, Katharina Dietrich, Julia Hartmann, Mirko Israel, and Tilman Kunkel, all of whom are studying communication design, created the layout. This issue also ventured into territory rarely seen on the German magazine market: it completely dispensed with the use of photography. Instead, the report is illustrated throughout with drawings by students from the Design Department. Under the direction of Professor Nils Hoff, students Sabrina Brose, Paul Feldkamp, Janice Jensen, Serafima Rayskina, Lena Schäfferling, Henry Schaper, Friederike Sujeba-Roesler, Carina Thomas, and Rebekka Turkiewicz created illustrations based partly on their own interpretations of transfer and partly on the transfer projects of the departments. The student team responsible for the annual report changes from issue to issue.
